Thank you for participating in our exciting book, Lessons: Stories From Behind The Counter. Co-authors, Garry Hiebert and Bill King developed this concept to document the positive effects working at McDonald’s has had on their lives and now they would like to include your story.
We want to know how working at McDonald’s helped mold your career and contributed to your success. What impact did working at McDonald’s have on your life? What life lessons did you learn while at McDonald’s?
We are looking for positive stories of achievement, motivation, inspiration, or passion. They can be told in story form or as an antidote, and can be serious or humorous. The objective is to encourage others to choose the McDonald’s career path. |

Garry Hiebert
Garry's passion for the restaurant business developed at a very young age while working in his family's restaurants. For the past 30+ years, his career has been focused on the casual dining and QSR industries, with the better part of that time working for the McDonald's Corporation.
During his career with McDonald's, Garry held a variety of positions, ranging from store manager to training consultant. Working in the restaurants, Garry's coaching style delivered positive results in the area of sales, profits, and people development. In his consulting role, Garry worked directly with McDonald's franchise owners and their management staff, focusing on developing and implementing successful management training programs. Currently, as the Director of Human Resources and Training for a profitable McDonald's franchise in sunny South Florida, Garry supports the operations and management of 11 restaurants, while directing the Human Resources and Training departments. Garry's other passion is keynote speaking where he enjoys delivering his personal view of first class customer service. In his spare time, Garry enjoys playing guitar, writing, reading, boating, and fishing.
